It’s summer!! Are you looking for a good place for your summer escapade? Coron, Palawan is the best place for you.
Coron is a first-class municipality in the province of Palawan, Philippines. Coron Island Palawan is surrounded by islands with majestic limestone cliffs, mountain ranges, and coastal areas mostly covered with mangrove forests. There are various primeval caves, underground river systems, picturesque coasts, and breathtaking white sand coves.
It was June of 2015 when we decided to have our summer vacation at Coron, Palawan. There are many activities to do there, you can do island hopping, snorkeling, wreck and scuba diving, explore the Coron reefs, kayaking, and many more.
We stayed in Coron for 5 fun days, here’s a list of the places we visited:
CYC Beach or Coron Youth Camp Beach is a white sand beach, it is the only beach in Coron without an entrance fee.
Twin Lagoon is a lagoon with shallow body of water separated from a larger body of water. You can climb wooden stairs or swim underground to pass the entrance and be able to go to the other side of the lagoon. The water here is cold and sometimes when you swim farther it becomes hot.
Kayangan Lake is dubbed as the cleanest lake in the Philippines. You need to climb for 10 minutes to be able to reach the place. It offers crystal-clear water.
Coron Town We also had the chance to see the town proper of Coron, we bought some T-shirts and “pasalubong” here.
Apo Mountainous Island just at the back of Majika’s Island Beach Resort (the place we stayed). Apo Island is covered mainly with some plants and trees. We reached the peak just right in time and witnessed Palawan’s sunset.
Lusong WWII Shipwreck is a Japanese sunken boat that sunk in September 1944. Currently, this ship is covered with corals and has become the home of different fishes.
Coral Garden is very amazing. It is a very long swim but worth it. The jellyfish surrounded us and we were all worried about it, there were several nice corals and different species of fish.
Pass Island is a white sand beach resort. It is called the “Pass Island” because people just pass by this island. It possesses a very fine white sand. There are several corals and sea creatures found here, and it is just a few meters away from the shore.

Majika’s Island Beach Resort:
If you are looking for the best place for you to stay, relax, escape, enjoy, and savor each moment of your Palawan Escapade, Majika’s Island Beach Resort is the best place for you. We availed the “Just Fly in and we’ll do the rest” Package which was 5D / 4N Nature Adventure. There are other package options and you can alter it if you like.
Majika’s Island Beach Resort offers one of the best places to stay in Coron, they have friendly and caring staff, good cooks, and a very funny owner, Ate Majika. They offer good and palatable foods, they cook various meals from breakfast to dinner. We also rode kayaks just after we arrived it was my first time and I learned fast how to paddle, we also tried to snorkel the corals on the reef just in front of the resort. The whole resort was powered by solar power and a generator. There will be no phone reception at the resort so it will be an opportunity for you to have a holiday away from the busy world of work, school, city life, and the Internet.

How do you get there?
We took a plane from Metro Manila, the travel time will take around 55 minutes. We landed at Busuanga Airport, and we reached Coron after a 45-minute scenic ride by van and a 15-minute transfer through a mangrove forest by boat.
